Tammy Ahmouda R.N. BSN

Tammy has been a clinical health care provider in Women’s Health for over 13 years.  Previously she worked in administration in the financial industry.  Her mid career change was based on her motivation to help those in need, particularly women at risk. She has a long time interest in multiculturalism as exemplified by the creation of an International Club at her local elementary school with the expressed goal of familiarizing children with new customs and beliefs and to celebrate cultural diversity.  She has traveled overseas and has lived and worked in North Africa, where she taught computer and information technology to local residents.  Currently she volunteers with the Catholic Social Services of Miami Valley, Refugee Resettlement Program, specifically with Burundi and Iraq refugees to establish their new life in the U.S.   Tammy is an active member of the International Women's Health Coalition and Enough Project.  Tammy has also been involved with Women of Women International since 2006 and has since developed a special interest in and connection to the plight of Congolese women.  This group is particularly vulnerable in an area of unrest and conflict. They lack health care & financial support and often are victims of inhumane physical and psychological mistreatment.  These women have particularly touched in Ms. Ahmouda an intense desire to improve the lives and quality of life of this group of vulnerable women.
